Motor Vehicle Credentials to expire December 31, 2024

Motor Vehicle Credentials to expire December 31, 2024

IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement licenses and MCRT (Motor Carrier Road Tax) renewals are due now. They must be filed by the end of 2024. Your IFTA license and decals expire each year on December 31st. The best way to renew is on www.mypath.pa.gov . If you do not receive your decals by December 31, 2024, Pennsylvania offers a grace period, which extends through February of the following year, but only for vehicles that were registered in 2024. Each vehicle costs $12 and you will receive a decal for each side of the vehicle.

UCR (United Carrier Registration) 2025 is also due by December 31, 2024, with NO grace period. All motor carriers, brokers, and leasing companies that haul across state lines or within a state that adheres to the UCR program, are required to register their US DOT Numbers with the Unified Carrier Registration. Enforcement begins January 1, 2025. This means that any interstate motor carriers without a valid 2025 UCR registration may be subject to citations and penalties starting on that date. Use www.ucr.gov to file online. Fees are as follow:

Number of power units

0-2 $46

3-5 $138

6-20 $276

21-100 $963

101-1000 $4592

1001 and above $44836

Don’t forget New York. 24th series NYS Highway Use Tax (HUT) and Automotive Fuel Carrier (AFC) Certificates of Registration and decals expire December 31, 2024. You must place them on your vehicles before January 1, 2025.

The fee is $1.50 for each truck, tractor, or other self-propelled device, and for each trailer, semitrailer, dolly, or other device that transports automotive fuel. This fee is for the Certificate of Registration and decal. Renew your credentials and pay your renewal fees online with One Stop Credentialing and Registration (OSCAR).
