Federal Transportation Leaders Meet with Pennsylvania Trucking Industry in Mechanicsburg
Secretary Sean Duffy and FMCSA Administrator Derek Barrs hear directly from PMTA members

Pennsylvania's trucking industry had a unique opportunity this week to speak directly with the nation's top transportation officials during a roundtable discussion hosted at Allen Distribution's Mechanicsburg facility.
The Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association (PMTA) was proud to help coordinate the June 23 discussion, which brought together U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Administrator Derek Barrs, Congressman Scott Perry, and approximately 20 PMTA member representatives from across the Commonwealth.

The conversation focused on the issues currently shaping the trucking industry, including highway safety, regulatory enforcement, infrastructure investment, freight fraud, and the challenges facing professional drivers and motor carriers.
Secretary Duffy discussed the U.S. Department of Transportation's efforts to streamline regulations and simplify the process of delivering critical infrastructure projects while reducing unnecessary complexity for trucking businesses. He also emphasized the Administration's commitment to combating freight fraud and illegal operators to help ensure that honest, law-abiding trucking companies—particularly small businesses—can compete on a level playing field.
Before the meeting concluded, Secretary Duffy and Administrator Barrs made a point of thanking the four PMTA Road Team Captains in attendance for the work they do to improve highway safety and serve as ambassadors for the trucking industry. It was a thoughtful acknowledgment of the professionalism and dedication these drivers demonstrate both behind the wheel and in their communities.

"One of the greatest values of associations like PMTA is the ability to bring policymakers and industry leaders together for open, honest conversations," said PMTA President & CEO Rebecca Oyler. "We greatly appreciate Secretary Duffy, Administrator Barrs, and Congressman Perry taking the time to listen directly to the people who keep our supply chains moving every day. Their willingness to engage directly with the industry—and to genuinely listen to the experiences and concerns of those on the front lines of trucking—demonstrates a genuine commitment to finding practical, common-sense solutions.”
PMTA extends its sincere thanks to Allen Distribution for hosting the event and to all of the members who participated in the discussion. As the trucking industry continues to navigate evolving regulations, new technologies, and workforce challenges, opportunities for direct dialogue between industry leaders and policymakers remain invaluable.
