Wednesday, May 20, 2026 (9:00 AM - 4:30 PM) (EDT)
Description
Module 3: Injury Control is designed to help motor carriers reduce workplace injuries, limit operational disruptions, and manage injury-related claims effectively. This course focuses on identifying high-risk tasks, implementing preventive controls, and responding appropriately when injuries occur. Participants will examine the most common injury types in trucking operations—including slips and falls, musculoskeletal and ergonomic injuries, and load securement-related incidents—and learn how to apply Job Safety Analysis (JSA) techniques to proactively address hazards. The course also covers OSHA injury and illness reporting requirements, ensuring attendees understand recordkeeping obligations and reporting thresholds. Additional emphasis is placed on return-to-work and transitional duty programs as tools to control workers’ compensation costs, reduce lost time, and support injured employees. Practical guidance on workers’ compensation claims management will help participants understand how early intervention, documentation, and communication impact claim outcomes. Interactive learning activities include a hazard identification exercise using real-world photos and scenarios, as well as the development of a sample injury-prevention campaign that can be implemented at the participant’s own operation. This module is ideal for supervisors, safety professionals, and managers responsible for injury prevention, OSHA compliance, and claims management. Duration: 8 hours
