Module 1: Compliance Foundations provides a practical, one-day overview of the federal regulatory framework governing commercial motor carriers. Participants will review key requirements under DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA, with focused instruction on Driver Qualification files, Hours of Service and ELD compliance, recordkeeping, and audit preparation. This interactive session includes hands-on review of sample driver files and a mock DOT compliance audit, emphasizing the areas inspectors scrutinize most—DQ files, HOS/ELDs, Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse, vehicle maintenance records, accident registers, and hazardous materials (if applicable). Each topic is reinforced using a structured mock-audit checklist to build real-world compliance and inspection readiness.
