After several months of high-profile cargo theft news stories out of Philadelphia, PMTA has been working to bring resources to our members. While Philadelphia police are reporting cargo theft numbers are currently down, PMTA knows protecting your drivers and goods is top priority. 

CargoNet is joining PMTA for the first Lunchtime Webinar of 2025. Transportation and logistics companies use CargoNet to reduce the risk of being the victim of cargo theft, quickly recover stolen cargo, and demonstrate to clients a commitment to safety. 

VP of Operations Keith Lewis and Intelligence Analyst Gary Thomas will join us for about a 45 minute presentation then take questions.

Keith Lewis: As CargoNet vice president of operations, Keith Lewis is responsible for managing CargoNet’s operational efforts, including supervising operations staff and providing investigative support and system training for CargoNet members. Keith has over 20 years’ experience in the third-party logistics industry. He began his career in 1980 as an operations manager in the transportation division of one of the country’s largest 3PLs. There, Keith worked his way up to general manager, overseeing the company’s trucking division as well as a 1.1 million square-foot distribution center. Keith also held high profile roles at two additional 3PLs. In 2000, Keith left the logistics industry to pursue a career in law enforcement, where he worked as a Task Force Agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Keith is still an active law enforcement officer with the Mohave County (Arizona) Sheriff’s Office.

Gary Thomas is a seasoned Criminal Intelligence Analyst at Cargonet, bringing a wealth of experience from his 24-year tenure with the Kentucky State Police. Specializing in auto and cargo theft for 14 years, Gary has played a pivotal role in numerous complex criminal investigations, leading to successful prosecutions in both state and federal courts. In recognition of his outstanding service, he was honored as the 2023 Civilian of the Year before retiring in 2024. Gary is an active member of the law enforcement committee for the Transported Asset Protection Association and is a sought-after speaker on cargo theft, having delivered multiple presentations at industry events nationwide.
