Module 1: Compliance Foundations provides a practical, one-day overview of the federal regulatory framework governing commercial motor carriers. Participants will review key requirements under DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA, with focused instruction on Driver Qualification files, Hours of Service and ELD compliance, recordkeeping, and audit preparation. This interactive session includes hands-on review of sample driver files and a mock DOT compliance audit, emphasizing the areas inspectors scrutinize most—DQ files, HOS/ELDs, Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse, vehicle maintenance records, accident registers, and hazardous materials (if applicable). Each topic is reinforced using a structured mock-audit checklist to build real-world compliance and inspection readiness. Designed for entry-level supervisors and safety personnel, as well as experienced professionals seeking a refresher, this course prioritizes practical application over lecture and prepares attendees to identify compliance gaps before enforcement does. Duration: 1 Day (8 hours)

PMTA Educational Series Overview

The PMTA Educational Series is a structured, six-module professional development program delivered throughout the year. Each module is designed as a stand-alone course, allowing participants to register individually based on their needs and availability.

While modules may be taken independently, maximum benefit is achieved by completing all six modules in sequence, as each builds upon concepts, terminology, and compliance principles introduced in earlier sessions. This progressive format provides the most comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance, safety management, and operational best practices.

Participation in all six modules is strongly recommended but not required. However, in the event that registration capacity is reached, priority enrollment may be given to participants who have completed previous modules in the series.
