Hours-of-Service 101 Seminar

This seminar provides a practical, working-level review of 49 CFR Part 395, including key regulatory interpretations, current exemptions, and recent guidance. Participants will engage in hands-on exercises focused on familiarization with and auditing of a driver’s Record of Duty Status (RODS/logbooks), reinforcing how the regulations apply in real-world operations.

  • Review of 49 CFR Part 395 (Hours-of-Service regulations)
  • Key regulatory interpretations, exemptions, and recent guidance
  • Hands-on Record of Duty Status (RODS/logbook) review and auditing exercises
  • Personal Conveyance requirements, common violations, and best practices
  • Electronic Logging Device (ELD) regulations and carrier responsibilities
  • Supporting documentation and audit preparedness

What to Bring

  • A current copy of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) "Green Book" (required for course exercises). Need one? FMCSR Green Books are available for purchase here.
  • Your company's Hours-of-Service and/or Personal Conveyance policy (optional but encouraged for discussion and practical application).
